For those of you not familiar with the World Day of Prayer: WDP is a worldwide ecumenical movement of women of many faith traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year on the first Friday of March. A different country each year prepares the worship service. This year the ‘host’ country is Cameroon which has a diverse culture rich in music, family and faith – “Africa in miniature”. The worldwide worship service will begin at the first sunrise on Friday, March 5 in the Pacific region and follow the Earth’s orbit, shining in each community of faith as the day progresses. Thank you, Church Women United of the Paint Lick churches for keeping this annual event of community prayer for all the churches in the area. This event gathers together men and women for the purpose of prayer and worship. The WDP has been a part of our community calendar for many years. Each year participants learn about the host country surrounding their chosen theme. Cameroon’s theme is “Let everything that has breath praise God”. Again, thank you, ladies for your faithfulness.
